CE Policy

The 2018 Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo represents the most comprehensive selection of timely, quality programs on topics designed especially for the home care and hospice industry. This year’s educational programming includes 75 sixty-minute education sessions, breakfast table discussions, and poster sessions in the Innovations Gallery.

Eligibility for Continuing Education Units / Nursing Contact Hours

To be eligible for CPEs/contact hours, you must:

  • Attend the session for its full duration
  • Ensure the barcode of your badge is scanned upon entry and exit of the classroom
  • Have a non-exhibitor badge/registration

Continuing Education for Nurses

The Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation. The approval code is: N18-17-1007-0914 and will be posted on Home Care University when available. Nurses may earn up to 8.0 contact hours not including pre-conferences. NAHC is also approved by the California Board of Nursing, Provider number 10810. Many states have reciprocity and will accept the contact hours for education programs.

Continuing Education for Accountants

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE sponsors (Sponsor ID #104616). In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits are based on a 50-minute hour. CPAs may earn up to 9.6 CPE credits for this group live program. State boards of accountancy have final authority on acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.  Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org.  Prerequisite or advance preparation is not required for education sessions at the 2018 Home Care & Hospice Conference and Exposition.  Courses levels are Intermediate.

Continuing Education for Social Workers

This program is approved by the National Association of Social Worker (Approval # 886588910-7936) for 8 social worker continuing education contact hours. The 29 sessions are: 105, 202, 204, 207, 209, 210, 305, 306, 308, 402, 404, 405, 407, 409, 501, 505, 509, 602, 605, 606, 609, 610, 701, 703, 706, 707, 708, 710, 805, No partial credit can be given.
NOTE: NY, MI and WV, do not accept National CE Approval Programs and required individual program/provider application processes. The following states, NJ, ID, currently do not recognize NASW Approval. Applications can be submitted to NASW State Chapters. Boards currently do not have Continuing Education Requirements in Puerto Rico.

Continuing Education for Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administrators 

The Provider/Sponsor agree to provide individual certificates of program attendance to each individual participant, listing: sponsor name, attendee name, program title, sponsor signature, number of hours attended, and NCERS approval number. Because some states require their licensees to complete CE in specific Domains of Practice, sponsors are urged to also include the Domains of Practice covered by the program directly on the certificate of attendance. This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 8.0 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS-Approval Number- 20191006-74-A46909-IN.
